Cooking Sausage Patties In Air Fryer
For a meaty addition to any breakfast or brunch, sausage patties in the air fryer are a great option!
Similar to air fryer breakfast sausages, these air-fried sausage rounds fit well on a breakfast sandwich, on toast, or make a savory side to your favorite breakfast foods!
Recipe Tips
Before you head off to make air fryer sausage patties, read through these recipe tips so that you achieve the best results!
- There are various brands of sausage patties (we used Johnsonville Original Recipe Sausage Breakfast Rounds). The thickness of the sausage patties and your air fryer can affect the exact cooking time.
- Make sure to not overlap the patties in the air fryer. Otherwise, they might not cook evenly.
- Be sure to cook your sausage patties to an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
- The cooking times mentioned below are for raw breakfast patties. If you want to make pre-cooked and/or frozen breakfast patties, the cook time will vary.
- When the sausage patties are done, place them on a plated lined with a paper towel to capture excess grease/fat from the patties.
We use this air fryer for our recipes and it has been great.
Step by Step Instructions
For the steps for how to cook sausage patties in the air fryer, you can follow the recipe process photos in this section.
This way, you can see how we make them – but it's really easy!
If you just want the cooking time and temperature for air fryer breakfast sausage patties without visuals, skip to the bottom of this post for the recipe card.
First, preheat the air fryer to 370 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once preheated, add the sausage patties. Make sure they fit in one even layer without overlap – this will help them cook evenly.
Cook the sausage patties for 8-11 minutes total until fully cooked and slightly browned on the outside.
Flip the patties halfway through cooking time.
The internal temperature of the meat should be 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
Since every air fryer cooks slightly differently, your exact cooking time can vary.
When the sausage patties are done, remove them from the air fryer. Place them on a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb some of the grease. Enjoy!
They taste great on a breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese.
Storage Tips
If you have leftover sausage patties, you can keep them in the fridge in a sealed container. Properly stored, they'll last for up to 3-4 days.
You can reheat these sausage patties either in the microwave for a few seconds or in the air fryer.
